• Regulator criticised after woman assaulted in care home

  The Care Quality Commission is being criticised for failing to take sufficient action after undercover filming showed an 80-year-old woman being slapped by a care worker. The footage will be shown on the BBC Panorama programme which will air tonight.

  Dales Housing has been awarded the Derbyshire Dignity Campaign bronze award for its Sheltered Service. Dales Housing's Sheltered Service offers care and support to 850 older people across Derbyshire Dales.
  Fiona Innes, Dales Housing's Sheltered and Supported Housing Manager, said "We are absolutely thrilled with this award, particularly as the application had to be approved by a number of service users to see if they agreed with the Council's view that we met the criteria for the award.
