Web event - 1:45pm

This year as you know we are using the Theme of Making the Invisible Visible and are holding a discussion /debate about the issue of whether individuals with fluctuating mental capacity have the right to make decisions about their long term future.

This will include an update form CQC about the Dementia Strategy, but we really want to get a discussion going about the considerations that need to be taken into account when considering long term decisions. Lasting Powers of Attorney provide a tool for those who care and support individuals to decision make, but how much weight should be given to the statements made by the individual, and how can their needs be balanced with those of relatives and services providing care and support.
