Gainsborough games

over three suites in gainsborough house all carers, visitors and families were encouraged to join in with our residents activities. On our day we held chair exercise groups, flower arranging, games of all sorts, hand massage. We tried to make every part of the day into an activity, from reading newspapers over breakfast and looking at fashion magazines, to the catering team having a bite to eat with clients when delivering meals. Communication boards were put up and visitors worked with carers to place statements on the correct board, it was great fun trying to decide the best heading it came under. The day was a great success and there was a lovely warm feeling around the home. We are going to do at least one day every month using a theme to get everyone from office staff to visitors to participate in a dignity awareness activity. The residents really enjoyed it!
