Red for Dignity Day
The 25th February was Dignity Day and also National Wear Red Day for the British Heart Foundation, who are celebrating 50 years of helping to save and improve lives. The gentlemen and staff from Middlerigg decided to combine these two events celebrating and raising awareness of Dignity in care whilst supporting and raising funds for a very worthwhile charity. Everyone wore red t-shirts and had a red themed meal of tomato soup and red jelly cut into heart shapes. We also made red fruit smoothies and red velvet cakes and cupcakes. There were various tennis and bowling competitions played on the Wii and a "red themed" quiz with prizes of red bags of sweets. Throughout the week we asked people to enter "Guess the superhero" and "What did Dave do?" games to win prizes of boxes of chocolates. We all had a throughly enjoyable day and raised £122.40 for the British Heart Foundation.
