Dignity Competency Framework

This framework was developed in order to provide individuals and organisations with a method of both assessing and auditing the ways in which their staff provide support that evidences and demonstrates a commitment to and practical application of the principles of dignity, compassion and respect.

It is available for purchase at the cost of £10 for a digital copy - payment options below. Like the Training packages once purchased it can be downloaded multiple times.

Karen Rogers MBE from Herefordshire Care Homes has recently trialled the document within her staff teams and reported that it was both easy to use and useful it conducting an audit of dignity approaches within the company.  Karen also shared that staff were at first sceptical of introducing more audit tools but fortunately the framework compliments the work they are doing to implement agreements and personhood care plans.

The framework builds on the statements within:

Regulation 10 of the regulatory framework, Dignity and Respect.

“The intention of this regulation is to make sure that people using the service are treated with respect and dignity at all times while they are receiving care and treatment. To meet this regulation, providers must make sure that they provide care and treatment in a way that ensures people's dignity and treats them with respect at all times. This includes making sure that people have privacy when they need and want it, treating them as equals and providing any support they might need to be autonomous, independent and involved in their local community.”  CQC regulation 10.
