QUESTION for DiC - are you altering the URLs of discussions?

mike stone 16/09/17 Dignity Champions forum

Is DiC changing the web-links for some of its discussion pieces? Over recent days I've found some of my stored urls [which I save to point at my earlier pieces in new papers] no longer seem to work - I've also had web searches 'going nowhere' when the article can be found by scrolling through the discussion pages themselves.

I'm not 100% sure about this - I've not had the time to properly check it out - but is DiC aware of anything it has been doing at its end, which might be changing the URLs of discussion pieces?

Regards, Mike

For some reason, you have altered the URLs to discussion pieces - the discussions are unaltered, but their web-links have changed.

For example, one of my pieces was when originally posted found at:

http://www.dignityincare.org.uk/Discuss_and_debate/Discussion_forum/?obj=viewThread&threadID=741&forumID=45

That now returns a 'page not found' message.

The piece is now at:

https://www.dignityincare.org.uk/Discuss-and-debate/Dignity-Champions-forum/This-is-why-professionals-struggle-with-the-Mental-Capacity-Act/741/

The consequence of this, is to seriously mess-up any online or other pieces, which referenced DiC discussions by means of their URLs.

Hi Mike,

A recent update to the forum caused your links to stop working.
This has been amended. Your old forum links should now redirect to the new urls correctly.

Thanks - great news as it stops making most of my PDFs and online pieces 'make me look pretty silly'!

I've tried the URL above - which does indeed work - and I'll check other URLs out over the next few days.

Thanks for fixing this, Mike.
