Tea for Dignity

On 25th February many older people living in Stockport came together for a delicious afternoon tea, singing, music and dancing to celebrate Dignity in Action Day.
The event was arranged and hosted by Individual Solutions SK - Day Services, and was supported by The Alzhiemers Society and Age Concern. The event was held in one of the Resource Centres. People attending other centres and the SHARED Programme - (Support, Help, Access to Resources and Education for Dementia- a joint initiative developed in partnership with the Alzhiemers Society that enables carers and their relatives to meet other people with similar experiences, share in joint activities and increase their knowledge of dementia) travelled to Bredbury to join in the celebration.
Live music, singing and dancing with songs from Glen Miller to Abba were thoroughly enjoyed, followed by a sumptuous afternoon tea including cakes freshly baked and iced by members that morning.
It was a wonderful celebration of Dignity in Action enjoyed by many.
