Pershore Tea Party

As part of its commitment to ensuring all patients are treated with the utmost dignity and privacy, Worcestershire Primary Care Trust held an event to mark Dignity Action Day.

Staff at Pershore Hospital hosted an event for patients, relatives, staff and friends to mark National Dignity Action Day on Friday 25th February.

Patients, relatives, service users and carers were invited to an afternoon tea party which was supported by The Friends of Pershore Hospital.

Dignity Action Day is a national campaign which aims to raise the awareness and importance of dignity in healthcare.

Organiser of the event, Ward Manager, Theresa Owen, said:

“Patients and staff were invited to bring in a photograph of a happy memory to share. This gave everyone the opportunity to interact and reminisce about their life. The event was appreciated everyone and our sincere thanks to all those who supported us.”

She added, “Most of us at some point in our lives will be in contact with care services, be that in our work, as a service user, carer, relative or friend and when we do we hope we will be treated with dignity and respect. Dignity Action Day is an excellent opportunity to promote the dignity of those receiving care and to make dignity and respect everyone’s responsibility, in order to ensure standards remain high.”
