Catalina Tea Dance

The residents at the Catalina residential Home in Alness enjoyed a night of entertainment brought to them by Opengate Puppet Show, this was provided by the children and adults of the Church of Scotland in Alness, Highland Dancers from Ann Noble’s school of dancing, and the event was opened by Councillor Maxine Smith.

There was name the teddy, guess how many sweets in the jar, and a fantastic raffle with contributions from residents families and the care workers from the Catalina.

In the week leading up to the event the residents were involved in the organising of the event and they helped with the baking for the refreshments that were provided on the night.

There was fantastic support for this event, on the night the home was packed with residents, their families, guests and children and everyone enjoyed the evening.

The purpose of this Dignity Action Day Event was to promote the dignity of service users in the care environment, and the Catalina Residential Home was the furthest north care setting from Glasgow to register for this nation wide event.

The feed back from guests, families and the residents was very encouraging, and hopefully this will be a regular event.

Thanks to all the following people for their kind donations and support
