Wii Sports Day

Last year we ran a Dignity Day Wii Sports Day (TV Computer game based) across all the three homes we had in the area at the time. A lot of fun, enjoyment, exercise and self fulfilment was enjoyed by the 17 residents and 8 staff who took part.

One of the residents, who previously had hated any form of sports, said she really enjoyed the day and felt that she was more valued by everyone in the homes just by having a fun day (and not forgetting the food and prizes as well).

Staff learnt more from that event about the value of being dignified and receiving/offering dignity to all than at any other time previously, and I am proud to now be our Dignity Champion for 2011.
