Visiting regulations review
As you may be aware, the Department of Health and Social Care have launched a review of the implementation of Regulation 9A: Visiting and accompanying in care homes, hospitals and hospices.
We have already been working closely with DHSC officials to determine what evidence we will be able to offer as part of this review, including complaints, give feedback on care, inspections and breaches. However, as you are all aware, our noted issues with our data and technology as well as our lower number of inspections carried out over the past year have meant that we may not have a wide enough view of how this regulation has impacted people's right to receive visits.
CQC would be very interested to know if you have any examples of the regulation encouraging visits in/out of your members’ services, whether they were prompted to review their visiting in/out policies and procedures, or if you have any other anecdotal thoughts/feedback on how you may have noted the regulation playing a role in services.
