The Size and Structure of the Adult Social Care Sector and Workforce 2020

You will have seen in the press or on social media that Skills for Care published its annual sector report ‘The Size and Structure of the Adult Social Care Sector and Workforce 2020’ on July 27. 

This influential report (opens new window) shows a growing sector and workforce, particularly within domiciliary care. It also shows we may need up to an additional 520,000 workers by 2035. The report relies on the data entered onto the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS)  which contains data from 20,000 care locations and on 700,000 individual staff members
