The Power of 20

This year sees the Dignity Campaign celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Funding continues to be a challenge for all Charities and we are hoping that our Champions will use the Power of 20 to raise funds at this time of celebration.

Take action

It’s about putting the ACTION into Dignity. 20 Years. More Than 195,000 People United by One Belief:  Dignity is a Human Right for everyone

The National Dignity Council launches the “Power of 20” to celebrate two decades of changing lives and to raise funds for the continuity of the dignity campaign

The message is simple: If everyone does one small thing, together we can make an extraordinary difference.

Activity ideas

Do a sponsored walk [perhaps not 20 miles or 20 kilometres but how about 20 furlongs, [that’s 2.5 miles]; or for some walking 20 metres would be a major achievement; swim 20 laps of the pool; get 20 people to buy a cake and a coffee, or donate the money they would spend on a cake and a coffee.

For those of you who enjoy Dancing for Dignity use that as a vehicle for fundraising and dance for 20 minutes. It’s a real opportunity for you to get actively involved in celebrating our anniversary and raising the funds to ensure that we can keep the campaign going for another 20 years.

“Imagine if just 20,000 people each raise just £20 during our 20th year. Together, they would raise £400,000 - enough to transform the reach of the National Dignity Campaign and help ensure that dignity remains at the heart, mind and actions of everyone for generations to come.”

As the campaign marks its 20th anniversary, the National Dignity Council is inviting individuals, organisations, schools, businesses, community groups and care providers across the UK to take part in The Power of 20 - a nationwide celebration of kindness, compassion and action.
