Prevention of elder abuse and falls

The Centre for Public Health at John Moores university have produced 11 reviews from the UK focal point for violence and injury prevention presenting a public health overview for the non-specialist.

Exert from the falls review:

An estimated 475,000 falls are recorded in general practices in the UK each year among people aged 60+ (4).

In 2008, over 3,400 people died from a fall in England and Wales, of whom 80% were aged 65 or over.

Both reviews share prevention tools/techniques for all.
