Oxfordshire Dignity and Dementia Champions’ Network Meeting, 15th December 2017

Our last meeting of the Oxfordshire Dignity and Dementia Champions’ Network was on Friday 15th December when we had a brilliant presentation from Tony O’Connell, who told of his experiences following a diagnosis of dementia. Tony was accompanied by his wife Maureen and together they provided a most moving insight into their journey following Tony’s diagnosis.

Penny Thewlis, Chief Executive of Age UK Oxfordshire introduced Tony and Maureen and gave us some additional background information, and Alex Brooks from Age UK Oxfordshire’s Get the Picture Project also supported the whole presentation.

Penny showed a short video about Irene’s experience of dignity in care called ‘You haven’t been where we have’ which you can view on this link here https://vimeo.com/144125404 (opens new window)
