The NHS Leadership Awards have been launched for 2010, to identify good leadership at all levels within the NHS. These awards are aligned to the National Leadership Council, which was created to underpin and champion the priority attached to leadership within the NHS. The Council works at national level to support and develop high quality leadership

The NHS Leadership Awards scheme is open to everyone working for, or on behalf of, the NHS in England.

The NHS Leadership Awards aim to champion strong and creative leadership which result in improved quality of service for patients. The organisers of these awards want you to celebrate outstanding leaders working at every level within the NHS across England, and to help the NHS encourage capable leaders of the future from all backgrounds.

Categories include the NHS Innovator of the Year, the NHS Community Leader of the Year, the NHS Award for Inspiration, the NHS Mentor of the Year and the NHS Newcomer of the Year.

The closing date for nominations is 28th May 2010
