Nissan's car which can tell when you're thirsty

A development by Nissan seems to be a piece of technology that is aching to be adapted into something ‘wearable’ or usable for an individual at home or within a care setting.

This article talks about a new development within the automobile industry which can determine whether or not an individual is dehydrated – having determined that the dangers caused by dehydration are significant and dangerous in terms of capacity to drive safely.

Within the care sector we are beginning to utilise the connections between data on an individual’s hydration and how this impacts on falls in particular – and therefore access to this new technology would be a great additional benefit. It appears to be based on a colour changing material that picks up levels of hydration from sweat – changing colour when detecting dehydration – and then responding as levels of hydration increase.
