News from our Champions in Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire Dignity Champions

Oxfordshire Dignity Champions had a fantastic rework session in June with many thanks to Sally Latham, our Oxfordshire Dignity and Dementia Champions’ Network coordinator and Engagement Officer.

All who attended agreed how important getting together is and that without these meetings the connections made as well as the wider discussions we have would be a great loss to dignity champions throughout Oxfordshire!

Our guest presenters Rachel Oscroft, Dementia Oxfordshire Training Manager and Lucy Baker, Dementia Oxfordshire Information Coordinator, (pictured) from Guideposts (opens new window) amazed us at times with the extent to the various activities and support offered across Oxfordshire. From a weekly bulletin newsletter, memory cafes, concerts, relaxed screenings, webinars to workshops to inform and support the all-important carers and families. Providing local authority contracted carers in an emergency and other carers support services. Information, advice and guidance is provided to those with long-term health conditions, carers and healthcare professionals.

As dementia touches so many more people’s lives easy access to clear information, excellent support and advice are essential to ensuring that the best and most dignified outcomes for all are achieved.
