Stoke Registered Managers Network and Skills for Care event

Trustees Lesley Flatley and Amanda Cain have been out and about during Dignity Action Month, raising awareness of the Month, and the importance of Dignity.  They attended Stoke Registered Managers Network and a Skills for Care event in Birmingham  as well as hosting events at their services.

Davlyn House

Thank you to Davlyn House for inviting us to their Dignity Event at the Village Church in Brindley Ford yesterday. We had a lovely time and lots of fun. The homemade cakes were delicious.

Lisbeth Nursing Home

Jan Burns MBE has been visiting services as part of her action for Dignity Action Month and below is an outline of one visit.

"We were absolutely delighted to welcome Jan Burns, CEO of Dignity in Care, to Lisbeth Nursing Home this week! 💛

Jan spent time walking around our home, meeting our wonderful team, chatting with relatives, and seeing our residents enjoying their day including some lovely pancake making and tasting! 🥞😊It was a joy for her to experience the warm, homely atmosphere and see the smiles on everyone’s faces.

During her visit, Jan also met with Andrea Walker (Home Manager), Mikey Cox (Operational Leads Manager), and our Activities Coordinator, Sana, where they discussed our shared commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and person-centred care throughout the home.

Jan introduced us to the 10 Dignity Do’s key principles that ensure dignity, respect, choice, independence, and compassion remain at the heart of everything we do. She spoke passionately about empowering staff to stand up for dignity in every interaction and creating a culture where every voice matters.

We were incredibly proud to be asked if we would like to become Dignity Champions and we were honoured to say yes! 🌟

This visit was a wonderful reminder of the importance of treating every resident as we would our own family with kindness, empathy, and respect every single day.

We are so proud of our team and the caring community we continue to build together."

Dignity impact statements

Stephanie Willbye another Trustee used the month to collect impact statements in relation to Dignity and the provision of services, which enabled everyone to get involved regardless of their role in the organisation.  More information (opens new window).
