New products for Dignity Champions

At our AGM this year we launched a range of new products...

Dignity Competency Framework, which will be available for purchase at the cost of £10 for a digital copy.  Like the Training packages once purchased it can be downloaded multiple times.

Karen Rogers MBE from Herefordshire Care Homes has recently trialled the document within her staff teams and reported that it was both easy to use and useful it conducting an audit of dignity approaches within the company.  Karen also shared that staff were at first sceptical of introducing more audit tools but fortunately the framework compliments the work they are doing to implement agreements and personhood care plans.

Workforce Dignity Do’s this credit card sized resource sits alongside the existing Dignity Do’s but focuses on staff and the key features of a culture that values and respects its staff team.  Again, Karen Rogers had trialled these and reported back positively on their use.  This is available to download from the website and hard copies can be requested with a limit of 50 per setting.  This is to ensure that all organisations have the opportunity to access hard copies.

Easy Read Dignity Do’s this A4 document is available to download from the website.  At this time we are not able to provide hard copies. Originally developed by Castle Supported Living, the Council was delighted when they agreed to co-brand the document to enable a wider dissemination.   Janet Duffy from Castle Supported Living shared with the meeting the development of the document and some other resources that they have developed.  These too are available from the website.

Voices of Dignity Podcasts [VODpods] Following the success of our VODpods produced as part of the Share for Better Care Campaign, the Council had been fortunate to receive a grant from The ACCESS Group to produce a series of Podcasts based around the 10 Dignity Do’s.   We were fortunate in receiving speaker support from CQC, Herefordshire Care Homes, CareRightsUk, Wild Monday’s and RMPcare and the series will be available to listen to from Monday 20th October. On  Apple, Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible etc etc.  and http://shows.acast.com/vod

Dignity Activity Calendar  Following previous interest in a Dignity Cruise Calendar produced by Davlyn House, the Council has developed the idea and will be launching an interactive Dignity Calendar in December.  This will visit the regions of England and Wales and includes inspirational quotes about Dignity, activities that celebrate Dignity, reflect the region being visited or the day of the month, using recipes as well as craft, and other activity mediums.  We are extremely grateful to Herefordshire Care Homes who are sponsoring the calendar to enable the Council offer this free of charge
