National Dignity Council - Collaborations

The Council is delighted to announce that we have recently set up collaborative arrangements with three organisations.  All three are quite different with different aims and indeed relationships.

Croydon NHS Health Trust (opens new window) are working to improve their approach to Dignityand we will be working with them to help them make that happen.  Our first meeting with them evidenced a team who are willing and prepared to meet the challenge that changing a culture necessarily brings.  In due course we hope to be able to share their story more widely.

CareFind (opens new window) is a not for profit Government funded organisation that has been set up to make finding support services easier for the general public. They are consulting with a number of organisations to ensure that they are providing what is needed for the sector. At the moment the focus is on residential and nursing care and is linked to the Capacity Tracker, but it is anticipated that this will be extended to other support services in due course.  It is different to other residential and nursing services listings in that it has real time information about vacancies. This prevents that long search through lists of services only to find that no-one has any vacancies anyway.  At a time of crisis when families [and others] are searching for the right support this is extremely valuable and means that people can make good use of their time.   From a provider point of view you have to be proactive and get your details on the system,  but once done it does give you the ability to make sure your vacancies are known about, and saves you dealing with multiple queries that you can’t meet.  The bonus for the Dignity in Care Campaign is that it gives us access to a large number of professionals who might not otherwise here about us.

SARAC (opens new window), this service based in Burton on Trent is keen to ensure that the work they do is underpinned by a commitment to Dignity. They reached out to us to both ensure that more people know about the work they are doing, but also to put Dignity on the map for those they support.  We have swopped introductory articles for our respective newsletters and SARACs is included here (opens new window).
