Moving to a self-sustaining network of Dignity Champions

The Dignity in Care Campaign has now been running for over 4 years and during this time we have been busy producing toolkits, easy to use training material, action packs and much more, all of which are available on-line for you our Dignity Champions. As well as the resources produced by the national team, there are also plenty of good examples and other resources from Dignity Champions who have already implemented the dignity challenge within their workplaces.

It has always been our hope that you, the Dignity Champions become a self-sustaining force able to find and use the resources available to you, including local champion networks that you could get involved with (see the map on our website), the SCIE practice guide, which helps service providers and users alike to ensure dignity for all and the numerous audit tools to ensure successful outcomes.

As part of this move forward, in line with wider Government plans for Big Society, not Big Government, from 17 Sept there will no longer be a contact telephone number for the national team. Everything you need to know about how to take forward dignity in care in your workplace/care setting is available on our website. We would encourage you to find the solution to your questions by taking a look there.

If you need some help in learning how to navigate the website before the telephone line closes then please give us a call and we will be happy to help.

You will continue to have access to posters and leaflets etc, which can all be found on our resources website page and are available for you to download locally. You will also still be able to email your requests to dignitywebsite@dh.gsi.gov.uk
