Dignity Action Day today!

It has been fantastic to see just how many of you are celebrating Dignity Action Day around the country today - see what events are happening near you on our interactive dignity map now featuring more than 300 events across the UK! If you haven't added your event to the map yet then don't worry, there's still time.

We hope you are all having a great time celebrating today and that your events go well. There is of course a serious message behind today's celebrations. We want people to remember that dignity isn't just for one day. Today is a great opportunity to promote dignity in care and share the good work that thousands of Dignity Champions and others do all year round to ensure people are treated with the respect they deserve.

Here are a few ways you can get involved in Dignity Action Day 2011

  • Take a few minutes out of your day and check out the Dignity in Care 10 point Challenge Card, and remind yourself and others what it means to be a Dignity Champion. SCIE also have a great Dignity in Care resource on their website.
  • If you are celebrating today, don't forget to take pictures of your activities and add them to the memory book.
  • Follow the day's events on our news feed, which is being regularly updated throughout the day.
  • Let us know how your events go and share your stories with us however you want to - be it through pictures, poems, videos, anecdotes - whatever you choose, just email them to us.
  • Have fun!

Happy Dignity in Action Day 2011
