CQC’s IPC Inspections – a Quick Guide
Before the days of COVID-19, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) was always a part of CQC’s inspection regime and is indeed one of the 15 Care Standards that make up the Care Certificate, so we should all be used to being mindful about infection.
COVID-19 has placed a massive emphasis on this part of delivering a Regulated Activity in any health and social care setting and it really should be the very first thing to consider when delivering face to face services and especially personal care.
CQC has commenced thematic reviews of IPC and are now routinely inspecting providers, either virtually or face to face if this is felt necessary.
