Overview

According to Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT), a national programme designed to improve medical care within the NHS, the daily hospital admissions for frailty were more than 4,000 pre-Covid, most coming through A&E.

Many of these admissions were for ‘minor’ reasons that would usually not require admission without frailty. This conference brings together distinguished experts in the field of geriatrics and offers a comprehensive and practical guide for improving the care of older people living with frailty in clinical practice.

Attendees will gain valuable insights into the latest national updates and guidelines, evidence-based practices, and strategies to optimise patient outcomes within the NHS. The conference delves into the healthcare system strengthening for people with frailty, latest national updates, strategies for identifying and diagnosing frailty, a step-by-step guide on delivering frailty education and training for staff, polypharmacy in geriatrics, virtual wards for frailty management, surgical care, falls, and end of life care in advanced frailty. Throughout the day, there will be interactive sessions, small breakout groups, and collaborative exercises, fostering a dynamic learning experience.
