This highly interactive one day training course led by an experienced GP and safeguarding trainer meets the requirements for level 3 safeguarding adults as outlined in the draft Intercollegiate Guidelines. The Masterclass covers the key indicators and principles, legislation, national policy and guidance, adult safeguarding processes, recent cases, including serious case reviews and the learning, and group discussion of challenging and complex cases.
Programme
Key learning objectives:
- Know the definition and key indicators of abuse
- Know the key principles of adult safeguarding as presented in current legislation, national policy and guidance
- Know what actions to take when abuse is suspected in accordance with current legislation and guidance
- Understand the key learning from recent serious case reviews and relevant domestic homicide reviews
- Achieve an understanding of the principles of safeguarding supervision by means of reflection on complex and challenging cases in a multi-agency forum
