The Power of Sport.

Whilst working at nursing unit in Whitby, most of the Saturday's which i had off i would go and watch Whitby Town. One Saturday that I was off, i took a resident who had been associated with the club prior to the onset of Dementia, when i came to pick him up he was somewhat uncertain about where we were going. Once we arrived at the ground he lit up,and shouted football,i took him into the clubhouse, where he had a Shandy(which he enjoyed) we then sat and watched the game, after which we returned back to the nursing unit.

The following day i was back at work, the gentleman pointed at me and shouted "football" to which i replied "Where" he said "Whitby" ,he then wandered off.

Little things can always make a difference.
