Brackenley Care Home, Dignity Activity 2020

On Saturday 15th February 2020 our clients spent the afternoon making heart biscuits to have with a cuppa while they listened to poems about dignity and discussed what made them feel loved and cared for in our home. They put their thoughts on our Dignity Tree, they included, “Staff being kind & being involved in activities!”, "feeling respected" "being supported to go out", & "feeling cared for" .Our Senior Carer Saffron wrote "Dignity is really important we always encourage our resident’s rights to their independence and their own space and values. It is important we constantly apply this in our everyday work so we encourage the people we look after that their opinions and values are respected and do matter!”. Everyone agreed it was a pleasant way to spend a wet and windy afternoon .
