Dignity in Suffolk

DIGNITY IN CARE DAY 2011

Suffolk County Council residential homes embraced dignity day with a series of special events including

-a pampering day with displays about what dignity means in real life situations

-setting the home up as The Ritz for the day

-having a “soup of a do” with residents and families worth residents recording what dignity meant to them

-develop a dignity tree which recorded residents and families views of dignity and their wishes and concerns

-making the home and wellbeing centre “red all over” for the day with quizzes, special lunch and music hall entertainment.

Overall the day provided time to reflect on the key issues of dignity and care in a relaxed informal manner and confirmed the high level of care and support provide by the homes. The level of attendance and participation by residents, customers and families showed they welcome the focus on dignity and high quality care provided.

Well Done to all who took part.
