afternoon tea

on the 25th March on the ward where i am a ward manager we held an afternoon tea. at visiting time the staff kindly donated cakes and we served these along with a cup of tea for the relatives visiting . the patients expressed that they would like us to do that more often it seemed to change the whole atmosphere of visiting. we had a donations box and the money raised will go towards items for our dementia box. i spoke to the visitors and patients alike about my role as a dignity champion and how i am trying to implement the concept in the ward area and throughout the trust. i also gave out comment cards for visitors to complete asking them to comment on what we are doing well and suggestions for improvement.
