Dignity in action

The staff at Fleetwood Hall Residential and Dementia Care Home embraced the dignity in action day with open arms in 2011.

Staff, relatives and residents joined together to share ideas about how the dignity I action day could be celebrated.

Two specific activities were decided upon and arrangements made.

1.Several staff members volunteered to escort residents on an outing to the local café and a stroll along the promenade at Fleetwood. Residents were able to sample a recreational activity which reminded them of leisure activities that many had enjoyed on a regular basis when they were younger.

2.A relative also promoted and enjoyed an activity with residents within the home setting. Baking cakes was the order of the day. Residents thoroughly enjoyed baking decorating and then sharing their finished product with other residents in the home during afternoon teas
