Overview

Over 1 in 5 people in the UK are disabled. Join us online this June to address the next steps towards disability inclusion. What more can public service providers, businesses and employers do to improve accessibility and experiences for disabled people?

Westminster Insight’s Disability Inclusion Digital Conference will cover the Government’s Disability Strategy and the recent Disability Action Plan, which set out 32 practical steps to make the UK a more accessible place for disabled people to live, work and thrive.

We will hear from disabled people, and renowned leaders in the charity sector, on what is needed from government to make services accessible and drive sustainable change. What reforms will help to tackle pressures from the increasing cost of living, challenges with welfare and employment, and the ongoing social care crisis?

We will set out the actions that businesses can take to understand disabled customers’ experiences and improve the accessibility of their products and services. We will share guidance for making buildings and venues more accessible. We will focus on disability rights in the workplace, and how employment can drive inclusion.

We will look at ways to ensure that the needs of disabled people are taken into account when planning and delivering public services. A series of quick-fire case studies will spotlight best practice in areas such as transport, sustainability, emergency planning, leisure, sport and democratic services.

You will hear from award-winning public and private sector organisations who have created fully accessible and inclusive environments for all.
