Hello / Goodbye

With your palm facing the person you're signing to, wave your dominant hand near the side of your head in one arc. The sign is the same no matter if you're greeting someone or bidding them farewell.

Please and Thank you

Using a flat hand starting at the chin and moving down and away. The key difference is that you must shape your mouth to say "please" or "thank you" as you sign. For "please," the hand often makes a slightly longer or "to the knees" movement, and for "thank you," it's a shorter movement.
