Guacamole

Recipe

Guacamole is an avocado-based dip, spread, or salad first developed in Mexico. In addition to its use in modern Mexican cuisine, it has become part of international cuisine as a dip, condiment, and salad ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 ripe tomato, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Mash avocado in a medium serving bowl.
  2. Stir in onion, tomato, and garlic.
  3. Season with lime juice and salt and pepper to taste. 
  4. Cover and chill guacamole for 30 minutes to allow flavours to blend.
