Witch Hat Centrepieces

You will need

  • Thin black card
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Compasses
  • Ribbons
  • Glitter
  • Gold and silver stars, moons,
  • Glue

How to make you witches hats

  • Start by drawing a half circle of about 20cm radius on the black card and cut it out.
  • Curl the circle round to make a cone and glue the long edges together.
  • Carefully cut 1 cm slits around the base of the cone. And bend these outwards.
  • Measure the diameter of the base of the cone at its widest point.
  • Draw a circle on the card using the compasses and then draw another circle using the same midpoint  about 2cm bigger.
  • Cut out the big circle and then the smaller circle to create the brim of the hat.
  • Check that your brim fits over the hat and sits on the frilled edges. Adjust the central hole if needed.
  • Glue the brim and stick to the frilled edges.
  • Then embellish to your heart's content with a mix of ribbons, glitter, and other decorative elements to give each hat a unique flair.

  • You can also create a Frankenstein or witch design using green paint and googly eyes.

Spooky Spiderweb Lanterns

  • Add plastic wrap or tissue paper to the cylinder and secure it with tape.
  • Cut out a ghost face from black paper or felt and attach it to the bag.
  • Place a flameless tea light inside for a ghostly glow.
