In England, the Black community comes together from December 26th – 1st January to honour the holiday's values of unity, heritage, and culture. There are many Kwanzaa celebrations held at various churches and plazas throughout the week-long holiday, with traditional foods being shared as part of the festivities.
Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life.
