East Midlands

Key cities include Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Northampton, and Nottingham.  Previously known for its mining industry, now the centre of the National Forest.  The area is known for its diverse landscape, including the Peak District National Park and the Lincolnshire coast.

Did You Know...

In Nottingham there is a groundbreaking bronze sculpture - ‘Standing in this place’ it portrays two woman, an enslaved black woman from the American cotton fields and a white mill worker from Nottingham’s textile industry.  This is the first UK’s first public sculpture to depict this transatlantic connection representing under-representation of thousands of unnamed women.
