In Nottingham there is a groundbreaking bronze sculpture - ‘Standing in this place’ it portrays two woman, an enslaved black woman from the American cotton fields and a white mill worker from Nottingham’s textile industry. This is the first UK’s first public sculpture to depict this transatlantic connection representing under-representation of thousands of unnamed women.
