Dignity in Care Award 2008 - Regional Winner - London Region

The 2008 Health and Social Care Award for Dignity in Care - London region award went to:

London Region - Tower Hamlets PCT Wheelchair Service and Whizz-Kidz

The project is a partnership between Tower Hamlets Wheelchair Service and the national children's mobility charity, Whizz-Kidz launched in March 2007

Local disabled children have been given routine access to high-specification mobility equipment, wheelchair skills training, specialist therapist advice, and continuity of support into adulthood. It is the first initiative of its kind to systematically pool resources and expertise of the statutory and voluntary sector, to provide an integrated, personalised service for children, parents and young people.
