Continence and support to use the toilet

Continence is a sensitive subject and it is important that staff within care services do all possible to respect the dignity of those under their care with regard to helping them use the toilet and manage incontinence.

The British Geriatrics Society's, "Behind Closed Doors Campaign", states that, "People, whatever their age and physical ability, should be able to choose to use the toilet in private in all care settings".
