West Midlands Celebrating Dignity Event

17/03/2010

The day will consist of several elements. There will be key note presentations from Simon Weston Falklands veteran and Amanda Waring actress and campaigner for dignity as well as a production from the theatre group 'Aftathought'. There will be a rolling programme of workshops covering particular topical issues such as Safeguarding, Personalisation, Carers, Care Quality Commission Inspection, Age Concern Hungry to be Heard Campaign, Telecare as well as experiential sessions and many more.

As part of the day we also plan to have a large exhibition area with stands for people/organisations as well as displays from hospital trusts or social care organisations or private companies who feel they have something to shout about that has impacted upon dignity.

The final element will be the Dignity Champion poster displays where local champions will be able to tell their stories about how they have made a difference on a day to day basis. We are hoping that this area of the event will be a real inspiration to all and showcase all the good work that dignity champions are achieving on a day to day basis.

The event is open to all and we hope that this mix will prove of interest to a very wide audience from acute health care providers from hospitals, GP practices and community services to social care providers from care homes, day care and domiciliary care as well as people caring in their own homes or those who have been on the receiving end of care.

We do hope to see you there and in order to receive your free ticket to attend please register on the link below.
