Get the picture with Social Care TV
The successful transformation of care services depends on a flexible and skilled workforce with enthusiasm for learning new skills. Television is one of the most effective ways of communicating with people who use or provide support services. That's why, with the support of the Department of Health, SCIE have launched Social Care TV - a broadband channel featuring films and links to resources on the big issues in adults' and children's care services.
From personalisation and dementia care, to children's safeguarding and young care leavers - we hope that Social Care TV has something for everyone interested in learning about good practice. Designed as a learning and development tool, you can view, download or e-mail films, and check out the key resources related to the subject. We have launched the service with 25 films, with two new films being released every month.

However not everyone has access to good broadband services. The Department of Health has asked us to administer a new fund to help care services to use digital technology more effectively. We will shortly be launching Get connected which will distribute grants to providers of adult social care services in England - with a strong focus on registered providers who do not have good access to the internet.
